Optional Features in Brave Web Browser
How to display & enable optional features in the Brave Web Browser such as Brave News, Leo AI, Brave Rewards, and Brave Wallet.
On this page
Based on our users' suggestions, we’ve reduced the visibility of various optional features in the Brave Web Browser by default in Zorin OS. These features include Brave News, Leo AI, Brave Rewards, sponsored background images, and Brave Wallet. Doing this provides a cleaner and more intentional browsing experience out of the box.
If you wish to display & enable these features in Brave, you can follow the respective instructions below.
Brave News
- Visit the homepage / new tab page in Brave.
- Click “Customize” in the bottom-right corner of the page.
- Select the “Brave News” category in the left sidebar of the dialog box that appears.
- Press the “Turn on Brave News” button.
- Add your preferred news sources (optional).
You should now see a list of news stories when you scroll to the bottom of the homepage / new tab page.
Leo AI
- Open the ☰ menu button in the top right corner of the browser window.
- Select “Settings” at the bottom of the menu.
- Navigate to the “Appearance” category in the left sidebar of the Settings page.
- Under the “Toolbar” section, click the switch beside the “Show Leo AI button” option to enable it.
- Under the “Show autocomplete suggestions in address bar” option, click the checkbox beside “Leo AI assistant” to enable it.
- Navigate to the “Leo” category in the left sidebar of the Settings page.
- Click the switch beside “Show Leo in the context menu on websites” to enable it.
You should now be able to access Leo AI in the following locations:
- Browser toolbar
- Sidebar
- When you right-click on selected text on any web page
- In the address bar while typing
Brave Rewards
- Open the ☰ menu button in the top right corner of the browser window.
- Select “Settings” at the bottom of the menu.
- Navigate to the “Appearance” category in the left sidebar of the Settings page.
- Under the “Toolbar” section, click the switch beside the “Show Brave Rewards button” option to enable it.
- Press the △ Brave Rewards button in the browser toolbar (right of the address bar).
- Select “Start using Brave Rewards” in the menu that appears.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up Brave Rewards and earn Basic Attention Tokens (BATs) while you browse the web.
Background images

- Visit the homepage / new tab page in Brave.
- Click “Customize” in the bottom-right corner of the page.
- In the “Background Image” category, click the switch beside the “Show sponsored images” option to enable it.
Brave Wallet
- Open the ☰ menu button in the top right corner of the browser window.
- Select “Settings” at the bottom of the menu.
- Navigate to the “Appearance” category in the left sidebar of the Settings page.
- Under the “Toolbar” section, click the switch beside the “Show Brave Wallet button” option to enable it.
You should now be able to access the Brave Wallet from the browser toolbar or sidebar.
